June 11, 2013

Brooklyn – State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn) today is inviting all local residents to celebrate Flag Day at a patriotic concert this Saturday, June 15th, 2013 starting at 12:00 pm in Cannon Ball Park located at 4th Avenue and 101st Street.

The Concert will feature a patriotic musical performance reminiscent of the greatest generation of our Nation. This Flag Day Concert will celebrate the day that the famous Stars and Stripes were adopted by the Continental Congress. It will also bring honor and thanks to those who are serving and have served in our nation’s military, as we owe everything to their service.

Senator Marty Golden stated, “Flag Day is a day that unites us as patriotic Americans. We must all remember the sacrifices many brave men and women have, and continue to make, for the love of this country. From the birth of our Nation until the present day, the one thing that has united us is our flag and our love for liberty and independence. Flag Day is a day to be proud to be an American, and I hope you join me at this concert.”

The concert is free and open to the public. Those planning on attending are encouraged to bring a beach or folding chair. For more information, contact Senator Golden’s office at (718) 238-6044.
