Brooklyn, NY – State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I) is calling on community residents to join him in donating school supplies for local children in need. Partnering with Catholic Charities and Our Lady of Angels Human Service Center, Senator Golden is asking residents to donate backpacks, notebooks, folders, pens, and pencils for those children who are most in need. The supplies will be given out at the 3rd Annual Back to School Event.
“Providing children with the tools to succeed and receive a proper education is the responsibility of every New Yorker. Today I am proud to join with Catholic Charities and Our Lady of Angels Human Service Center to help collect and distribute basic school supplies for those who are in need,” said Senator Golden. “With your help, we can make sure that every student, regardless of their economic standing, has the same chance to succeed, and has the same access to school supplies so that they can strive to fulfill the American Dream. I am encouraging all residents to drop off school supplies at by District Office between now and August 22nd.”
Senator Golden’s office is located at 7408 5th Avenue in Brooklyn.
Getting Kids Back to School Safely will take place on Thursday, August 22 from 12pm to 3pm at the Playground of Our Lady of Angels, located at 336 73 Street.
