Senator Golden Starts a New Holiday Tradition for Seniors

Brooklyn – State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn) today is announcing his series of new holiday events billed as “Holiday Senior Festivals”, which will feature the participation of numerous City and State agencies, free blood pressure screenings, entertainment and lunch, a FREE shredding truck parked outside to shred old documents, and raffles as well as a tree trimming.

“My staff and I are looking forward to this new event, scheduled around the holidays, that will celebrate another great year in our community. This fair will provide an important venue for seniors to have an afternoon of information, resources and fun, to get them into the holiday spirit. I am looking forward to the shredding truck to help get rid of some of those papers that clutter our lives that really should be shredded,” said Senator Golden.

The events will also serve as collection sites to support the Toys for Tots campaign. Letters and cards can also be brought to the events which will be mailed to our American serviceman and women overseas. The events, which are free and open to the public, are scheduled for:

St. Patrick’s Auditorium, 9511-4th Avenue

Friday, December 20, 2013, 1pm-4pm

St. Edmund’s Preparatory High School, 2474 Ocean Avenue
