Statement From Senator Golden on New York City Council Vote to Override Mayor Bloomberg’s Veto of Community Safe Act

Brooklyn, NY – State Senator Golden (R-C-I), following the New York City Council vote to override Mayor Bloomberg’s veto of The Community Safe Act, issued the following statement:
“Today the New York City Council voted to make New York City less safe. These bills will do nothing to further the safety and security of New Yorkers. As a former police officer, I can tell you that instituting these policies will tie the hands of the New York City Police Department, make the job of a Police Officer harder, and make being a successful criminal easier. The blood of the innocent is now on the hands of the City Council members who supported this flawed and misguided piece of legislation.”
