Statement From Senator Golden Regarding Last Night’s Bomb Scare in Bay Ridge
Martin J. Golden

Brooklyn, NY – Last night, an object was placed in the confines of the 68th Police Precinct meant to look like a bomb. This object was an empty propane canister with an electronic device attached, clearly meant to look like a bomb. Following reports this morning from the 68th Precinct and The New York Daily News, Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I) issued the following statement:
“After the horrific terrorist attacks in Boston on Monday, the idea of attempting to create panic with a lewd act of this nature is unconscionable,” stated Senator Martin J. Golden. “The perpetrators of this prank must be brought to justice, and I ask anyone with information to come forward. These childish pranks are no laughing matter. During a time of grave concern, when everyone is on heightened alert, to divert police and public resources for a gag is a criminal act, and should be treated as such. I want to thank the New York Police Department for their swift response to the initial calls and also for their continued work to keep our communities safe.”
