(Astoria, NY) Senator Michael Gianaris, Assemblywoman Aravella Simotas and Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney hosted an Open House to celebrate their new District Offices in the heart of Astoria. Local residents and community leaders from Astoria, Long Island City, Ridgewood, Sunnyside, Woodside and Woodhaven were joined by elected officials from all over Queens at the new offices on Newtown Avenue.

“It was a pleasure to host so many friends and community leaders who share our dedication to improving Queens,” said Senator Gianaris. “My door is always open to the people of Queens and this Open House was the perfect way to welcome them to an office that is as much theirs as it is mine.”

"It was wonderful to welcome so many friends, neighbors, and colleagues to our new district office in the heart of Astoria," Assemblywoman Simotas said. "I encourage everyone in western Queens to stay informed and connected with their local elected officials-- engaging directly with residents is so essential in helping us to better serve the community."

“I am thrilled that our office was able to host community members from Astoria, Long Island City and several surrounding Queens neighborhoods. Likewise, I am so glad to be sharing office space with State Senator Gianaris and Assemblywoman Simotas, two devoted and hardworking public servants, both of whom I have worked with on a number of important issues. This shared office space will only improve our ability to work together on behalf of our constituents, and for that I am truly excited,” said Congresswoman Maloney (NY-12).

The new offices are located at 31-19 Newtown Avenue, conveniently near the 30th Avenue stop on the N and Q Subway lines. Senator Gianaris’ office will also continue to also be the location of Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney’s Queens satellite office.
