Span of Route 20A Will Connect At County Line With Wyoming County Veterans Memorial Highway
Senator Patrick M. Gallivan (R,C,I - 59th District) applauded Governor Cuomo today for taking time over the Veterans Day Weekend to sign legislation (S.4752 - Gallivan) designating a stretch of Route 20A as the "Livingston County Veterans Memorial Highway." The portion to be designated begins at I-390 and runs west to the Livingston County line, where it meets with a portion of Route 20A in Wyoming County already designated as the Wyoming County Veterans Memorial Highway.
“As the nation paused this weekend to reflect upon our brave veterans and their service, Governor Cuomo chose a very appropriate time to sign this legislation into law. Livingston County has a long and proud tradition of military service dating to the Revolutionary War and this new memorial highway will be both a reminder and a tribute to the sacrifice of Livingston County's veterans and their families,” Gallivan said.
Gallivan was also the primary senate sponsor for legislation creating the aforementioned Wyoming County Veterans Memorial Highway and legislation in 2011 to designate a portion of Route 15A in the Town of Lima as the Lima Veterans Memorial Highway.
