Fatal Crash In Wheatland Marks Tragic End To Three Promising Young Lives
“As a former State Trooper and Erie County Sheriff, and as a father, I speak from experience in saying there is nothing worse than arriving on an accident scene and finding young drivers involved. My thoughts remain with the family members of the deceased. Unfortunately, answers are not always as immediate as we would like following tragedies of this nature.”
“Since Tuesday, I have been in communication with local, county and State Department of Transportation officials to discuss the cause of the accident, the traffic safety history of the intersection, and the effectiveness of safety improvements implemented in 2011.”
“As the Department of Transportation and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office conclude their investigations, I will continue to explore and discuss any potential safety precautions and accident prevention measures that could make the intersection of North Road and Mumford-Riga Road in the Town of Wheatland as safe as it can possibly be.”
