More Than 300 Attend Ritchie’s St. Lawrence County Senior Health and Wellness Fair

More than 300 seniors packed Ogdensburg’s Oddfellows Hall Wednesday to take part in State Senator Patty Ritchie’s Senior Health and Wellness Fair. 

The free event featured more than 60 organizations, offering wellness tips, health screenings, flu shots and giveaways.  A free lunch and entertainment sponsored by Senator Ritchie were also provided. 

At the event, Senator Ritchie honored Charles W. Kelly, former newspaperman and leader of the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center Task Force, and June McCoy, former president of the Ogdensburg Senior Citizens, as her St. Lawrence County “Senior of the Year” awardees.

The St. Lawrence County event marks the last of three Senior Health and Wellness Fairs, which were also hosted in Jefferson and Oswego Counties. In total, more than 1,600 seniors in Central and Northern New York have attended Senator Ritchie’s Senior Health and Wellness Fairs this year.
