Senator Phil Boyle recently enjoyed a demonstration by the Lindenhurst High School Robotics Team showing off their disk shooting robot as they fine tune their creation for two upcoming FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competitions.
This spring, the group will compete at the FIRST Robotics Buckeye Competition in Cleveland, Ohio as well as the annual FIRST Robotics Competition at Hofstra University.
Senator Phil Boyle said: “Our high school robotics teams inspire teamwork and a cooperative effort that teaches many life skills. I applaud the Lindenhurst High School Robotics Team for their past success and continued enthusiasm in science and technology as they work toward their upcoming competitions.”
Last year the Lindenhurst High School Robotics Team finished in the top 4% nationally in FIRST Robotics Competitions and then went on to finish in the top 2% at the FIRST Championship International Competition held in St. Louis.
