Fire Island School District Fifth Grader Takes 1st Place
Babylon, NY - Senator Phil Boyle (R-Bay Shore) recently congratulated Fiona Crowe, 1st place winner of the NY State Senate Earth Day Poster Contest for the 4th Senate District. Fiona is a 5th grader from the Fire Island School District. Her winning artwork for the poster contest is entitled “Save Our Earth, Don’t Trash It.”
“Thank you Fiona for your wonderful contribution to the New York State Senate’s Earth Day Poster Contest,” Senator Boyle said. “I am proud of your work and that of your classmates, and encourage you to continue to study and learn more about the serious challenges that face our environment. Each entry from my District displayed tremendous originality and vision as well as obvious concern for the ecological future of our communities and our state.”
Senator Boyle gave special thanks to participants' families and teachers, whose dedication and involvement in this event provided the encouragement for students to be creative and participate in the 2013 Earth Day Poster Contest.
