Senator Simcha Felder (D-Brooklyn) is conducting a series of walking tours throughout his district, visiting vital community organizations and educational institutions as part of his ongoing commitment to be directly accessible to his constituents.
“Being an elected representative means being accessible to everyone in my district. If, for whatever reason, my constituents cannot come to me, I am going to come to them,” said Senator Felder. “This ensures that everyone has an opportunity to have their concerns heard,” said Senator Felder.
Recently, Felder met with representatives from Flatbush Hatzoloh, the volunteer ambulance corp., and toured its very active dispatch center and headquarters on Ocean Avenue and Avenue N.
"Hatzoloh was honored to welcome Senator Simcha Felder and his colleagues to our Flatbush branch headquarters. The Senator and his staff have been very supportive and helpful to our organization in the past and we hope to continue the good relationship,” said Isaac Unger, a coordinator at Flatbush Hatzoloh.
Senator Felder also visited Misaskim, an organization which both helps the bereaved and acts as an emergency response group for the community.
“My team and I were extremely thankful that Senator Felder took the time to come to our headquarters and experience first-hand what we do here,” said Yaakov Cohen, Executive Director of Misaskim. “We look forward to collaborating with the Senator in the future to develop further resources for the community.”
Additionally, the Senator stopped at Bais Yaakov of Boro Park, one of the largest girls yeshivas in his district, where he spoke with school administrators including Rabbi Oscar Ehrenreich, the dean; Rabbi Frank, the principal; Rabbi Nachman Blasbalg, the school administrator; as well as some of the students.
“We had the privilege of hosting Senator Simcha Felder in our school,” said Rabbi Ehrenreich. “I was most impressed by his ability to grasp the big picture and the details of running a school. He was eager to help us and use his good offices for the welfare of our school.”
