SEN. GIPSON ANNOUNCES NO MORE FEES FOR PURPLE HEART HONOREE LICENSE PLATES
ALBANY, NY -- Senator Terry Gipson (D-Rhinebeck) issued the following statement after his cosponsored legislation (S4451A) passed the Senate. The legislation will eliminate any fees associated with the distinctive license plates for Purple Heart recipients.
“Our veterans who have risked their lives and have been wounded fighting for our country have earned the right to be recognized for their bravery at no cost. Local veterans from my district brought this issue to my attention and I’m very pleased that we were able to address their concerns.
“Through my position on the Veterans Committee, and working with my Veteran Advisory Committee consisting of local veteran groups and organizations, I hope we can continue to thank our veterans in the 41st District and across New York through our actions.”
