SEN. TERRY GIPSON REQUESTS PSC REJECT VERIZON'S VOICE LINK PETITION
"It is in the best interest of my constituents that I have asked the Public Service Commission to reject Verizon's petition to abandon its proven wire line service and only offer 'Voice Link' wireless service in certain areas. I believe it is premature to embrace 'Voice Link' until it can be proven to be as reliable as copper or fiber-optic networks.
"A proven telecommunication system is crucial to ensuring the safety of our communities, especially in a time of emergency, and the ability of our businesses to operate. Also, consumers deserve to choose the best product and service available to them, not have it forced upon them. I respectfully hope that the PSC will fully review my letter and take my request into serious consideration."
