SENATOR GIPSON ANNOUNCES MTA TAX RELIEF FOR SELF-EMPLOYED
ALBANY, NY -- Senator Terry Gipson (D-Rhinebeck) announced the passage of legislation (S.2648) that repeals the MTA Commuter Tax for self-employed individuals earning up to $250,000 annually.
"This tax cut reduces the cost of doing business for those who are self-employed in Dutchess and Putnam Counties. I've been a leading voice in fighting to repeal this unfair tax to help provide real relief to our community.
"This bill is a great step towards reducing taxes, creating job opportunities, and improving the quality of life for all of us in the Hudson Valley."
