SENATOR GIPSON ANNOUNCES PASSAGE OF BILL ESTABLISHING INCENTIVES FOR SOLAR ENERGY
ALBANY, NY – Hudson Valley Senator Terry Gipson is pleased to announce the passage of a bill (S2522) that will establish incentives and tax credits for investments in solar energy and extend existing programs.
“Investing in green technologies for the Hudson Valley and New York is crucial to protecting our environment and improving the economy,” Senator Gipson said. “Establishing tax credits and incentives for investment in solar energy will attract large-scale businesses to our district, creating jobs and boosting state revenue.”
The tax credits establish a program to attract new large-scale qualified solar and battery manufacturing plants to New York State. The bill also extends the Governor’s NY Sun Program for an additional ten years.
“For our state to build a long-term environmentally sound and prosperous economic future, we need to make green technology infrastructure investments now. These common sense tax credits will help to achieve a sustainable future, attract businesses and jobs, and preserve our beautiful Hudson Valley,” Senator Gipson concluded.
