SENATOR GIPSON HONORS LOCAL FIRE DEPARTMENT ON SENATE FLOOR
ALBANY, NY – Today, Hudson Valley Senator Terry Gipson honored the Hughsonville Fire Department and its past and present members with a resolution commemorating their 100 years of service to the citizens of Wappinger, New York and its surrounding communities. Company President Bill Beale, Chief Mike Stearns and ten members of the department joined Senator Gipson on the Senate floor where they were presented with a copy of the resolution.
“It is remarkable to think that 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, for 100 years, whenever the alarm has sounded, these brave volunteers have left their homes to offer aid to their neighbors,” said Senator Gipson. “I am honored to recognize this selfless commitment by the Hughsonville Fire Department here today in the Senate Chamber before my Colleagues.”
Chief Mike Stearns stated, “I want to thank Senator Gipson for recognizing and supporting our Fire Department and those who have served before us. We are extremely proud of our history and look forward to another 100 years of protecting our community.”
