SENATOR TERRY GIPSON DELIVERS A $100,000 INFRASTRUCTURE GRANT FOR THE TOWN OF HYDE PARK’S BUSINESS DISTRICT
HYDE PARK, NY -- New York State Senator Terry Gipson (D-Dutchess, Putnam) delivered a $100,000 infrastructure grant that he securedthrough the New York State Economic Development Assistance Program to the Town of Hyde Park. The grant will go towards improvements to their business district. Senator Gipson presented the grant to Town of Hyde Park Supervisor Aileen Rohr, Councilperson Emily Svenson (Ward 1), Councilperson Ken Schneider (Ward 4), Legislator Richard Perkins (CLD-07) and Legislator Sue Serino (CLD-04).
“As the ranking member of the New York Senate Local Government Committee and a member on the Tourism Committee, I know the important role Hyde Park has in growing our regional economy,” said Senator Gipson. “I commend Supervisor Rohr and the Hyde Park leaders for their work to improve the town’s infrastructure and I am pleased to have been able to secure funding for this important project.”
“Hyde Park’s leadership had identified the lack of infrastructure as an impediment to redevelopment of our commercial areas for the 21st century. We’re grateful to Senator Gipson for listening to our needs and helping us access funds that will enable us to solve problems and keep Hyde Park moving forward,” said Town of Hyde Park Supervisor Aileen Rohr. “With these funds, we will be able to design modern, targeted sewer systems for commercial hubs and add streetscape improvements that will make our town attractive to investors.”
