SENATOR TERRY GIPSON’S STATEMENT ON ‘DAY OF ACTION’ FOR PUBLIC EDUCATION IN NEW YORK
“I commend all of those who are advocating for common sense to return to our children’s education: today and everyday. I support the call for a three-year moratorium on Common Core in New York State and I am committed to ensuring sufficient and equitable funding for our public schools.
“I strongly believe that the parents and educators who know our children and community best deserve to have input into how education policy is implemented in their schools. Individualization, not standardization, will empower our youth to be the innovators, job creators and leaders of tomorrow.
“I remain committed to listening to our educators, parents and community members in our continued efforts to make sure every child receives a quality education.”
