Albany, N.Y., January 18—As New York Governor Andrew Cuomo prepares to unveil his 2013-14 state budget proposal at the Capitol next Tuesday, State Senator Tom O’Mara (R-C, Elmira) is giving residents of his 58th Senate District an opportunity to weigh in on this year’s budget priorities.
Cuomo’s budget presentation is set for Tuesday, January 22, 2013 in Albany. He’s expected to continue the economic and fiscal reform agenda that has defined state government over the past two years and produced no new or higher state taxes or fees, decreased year-to-year state spending, and started to streamline and overhaul the state bureaucracy.
“Governor Cuomo’s budget presentation will fill in the blanks and offer the details for the broad and ambitious agenda he laid out in his recent State of the State message. It’s going to frame many of the key challenges of this legislative session and I’m glad to provide this opportunity for local citizens to quickly weigh in on some of their priorities,” said O’Mara, whose 58th District includes all of Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben and Yates counties, and part of Tompkins County (the city of Ithaca, and the towns of Enfield, Ithaca, Newfield, and Ulysses).
