Students with The Campaign for Summer Jobs Visits Albany Capital Office
ALBANY, NY – State Senator Toby Ann Stavisky met recently with Queens students advocating for funding for summer jobs programs. The students, from Russell Sage JHS 190, traveled to Albany as part of The Campaign for Summer Jobs.
“These students are excellent lobbyists,” said Senator Stavisky. “They are absolutely right – we need greater funding and support for summer jobs programs. Not only do the kids learn about financial responsibility and gain valuable work experience, but it keeps their minds and bodies active during a summer vacation that might otherwise be spent being unproductive.”
The Campaign for Summer Jobs is a coalition of nearly 100 community-based New York City organizations advocating for the New York State’s Summer Youth Employment Program.
