Senator Bill Larkin (R-C-I, Cornwall-on-Hudson) today announced that the Orange and Sullivan Counties Employment Alliance Network (OSCEAN) and the Local Business Advisory Council (LBAC) will be hosting a Transportation Summit on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at The Lobby at the Ritz Theater in Newburgh.
The purpose of the Transportation Summit is to bring together parties that use, fund and provide public transportation services in Orange and Sullivan Counties, and to then develop ways to help individuals who do not or cannot drive get transportation to workplaces within the region.
“There are a number of individuals in our area who can work and who want to work, but regrettably have no way of actually getting to work,” said Senator Larkin. “I’m hopeful that this summit will make this unfortunate situation a thing of the past, or at least remove some of the barriers currently in place. I applaud OSCEAN and the LBAC for their dedication to this issue and look forward to a successful and productive summit.”
