Senator Lanza Reminds Jobseekers About 88,000 Available Positions Listed on Jobs Express

Senator Andrew Lanza today reminded New Yorkers that nearly 88,000 jobs are currently available and listed on the Jobs Express website (www.jobs.ny.gov). The site site sorts thousands of jobs by region and occupation, and also allows users to search jobs based on zip code and travel distance.
With nearly 90,000 jobs listed online, our Jobs Express website is a great resource for New Yorkers seeking employment. Since the site was first launched, thousands of businesses have utilized Jobs Express to tap into the Empire State’s unparalleled work-force, and with more people being hired every day it is playing a vital role in our efforts to connect New Yorkers with growing local businesses.
Throughout the month of March 2014, there were more than 119,000 new job openings listed on Jobs Express and more than 77,000 unique website visitors. This represents an increase of 17,000 new job openings and 6,400 unique visitors from the previous month.
New businesses and job listings are added every day. A total of 7,700 businesses posted a new job order on the site in March 2014, representing an increase of 22 percent from March 2013. Businesses using the site fulfilled more than 97,000 job orders in March 2014.
The occupational categories with the most jobs listed in March 2014 included: Sales and Related, Office Clerical and Secretarial, Management, Computer and Mathematical, and Business and Financial Operations.
