Senator Young Celebrates the Life of Buffalo Bills Owner Ralph Wilson

            ALBANY - Senator Catharine M. Young (R,C,I-Olean) co-sponsored a Senate resolution celebrating the life, and mourning the death, of Buffalo Bills owner and Western New York icon Ralph C. Wilson, Jr., who passed away on March 25, 2014.

            “All of Western New York is in mourning over the loss of a such a great man. Loyalty, integrity, and trust were the hallmarks of Ralph Wilson. He made sure that our beloved Buffalo Bills, a team that is part of the fabric of our lives, stayed in Buffalo. We are grateful to have had him for his 95 years of life,” said Senator Young.

            In his honor, Senator Young and her Senate colleagues passed the resolution (J.4263) celebrating his great life and accomplishments.

            “For his dedication to Buffalo and Western New York over the course of his life, we all owe Ralph Wilson an enormous debt. Along with being one of the most influential and beloved figures in the history of Western New York and football, Ralph Wilson was also an American hero who served our country in World War II with the United State Navy. His tremendous life of service and humanitarianism earned him the reputation of a man imbued with unparalleled loyalty and principles.

            “The name Ralph Wilson carries an honor and respect in Western New York and throughout American sports that is unmatched. We have truly lost one of our greatest citizens. May his legacy long endure and be a continual reminder of a man who devoted his life to others with great generosity and love,” said Senator Young.
