Senator Young Meets with Mercy Flight Central

Member of Board of Directors Richard D. Burke Visits Albany 

            ALBANY - Richard Burke of Avon, a member of Mercy Flight Central’s Board of Directors, visited Albany recently to meet with Senator Young and other legislators and discuss the important work of the non-profit air-medical services provider based in Canandaigua.

            As a volunteer member of the Board of Director, Mr. Burke traveled to Albany with other advocates from across the state to promote awareness of the emergency air-medical transport services that operate throughout the state, serving a vital role airlifting accident victims in need of immediate critical treatment.

            “Our motto is, ‘Critical care in your most critical hour,’” said Mr. Burke.

            For over 20 years, Mercy Flight Central has worked with police, EMS, and other first responders at accident scenes providing emergency helicopter services to area victims in need of rapid transportation. Mercy Flight Central aircraft can travel within a 150-mile radius of their bases of operations in the Finger Lakes, Central New York, and the Mohawk Valley region. 

            “Mercy Flight is there when accident victims are facing their most perilous hour. I sincerely thank them for all they do and will be sure to remain a strong supporter of their lifesaving work,” said Senator Young.
