Brooklyn Elected Officials' Statement on Long Island College Hospital
June 13, 2014
BROOKLYN – Today, State Senator Daniel Squadron, Assemblywoman Joan Millman, and Councilmembers Brad Lander, Steve Levin, and Carlos Menchaca released the following statement regarding Long Island College Hospital (LICH):
"We are proud to continue to stand together with the coalition of community groups fighting for Long Island College Hospital. It is important that we continue to push the bidders seeking to purchase LICH to ensure that continuity of care is maintained and the maximum amount of healthcare possible is achieved. We have long believed that an independent community needs assessment is key to meeting the healthcare needs of the neighborhood. We continue to urge SUNY and all parties, in the strongest possible terms, to work with the community to ensure these principles are adopted."
