Senator Jack M. Martins (R-7th Senate District) announced that he has secured state funding for a community program which benefits children in the Manhasset-Great Neck community.
The state funding will be used by the Manhasset School District for the Great Neck/Manhasset/Nassau BOCES Parent-Child Home Program. The program provides in-home educational opportunities, including early literacy, for pre-school aged children whose families are in need.
“Helping children in need develop their reading skills early and getting them excited about learning will benefit them throughout their lives. This is an important program and I am pleased to support it,” said Senator Martins.
“We are very appreciative of Senator Martins’ efforts to obtain $50,000 in funding for the Parent-Child Home Program. The targeted population of 1 ½ - 3 year old needy children are the direct beneficiaries of this financial support. The funding will also help ensure that the Program Director, Mary Costagliola, will be able to maximize the number of young children who will be positively impacted,” said Manhasset School District Superintendent Charles Cardillo.
