Senator Martins Honors Manhasset Resident for Her Many Years of Community Service

     Senator Jack M. Martins (R-7th Senate District) recently honored Manhasset resident Lisbeth Shibley for her many years of service to the Manhasset community. 

     Lisbeth Shibley is the founding executive director of the Manhasset Community Coalition Against Substance Abuse (Manhasset CASA). Since founding the organization, Ms. Shibley has worked to educate parents, teens, and community members to the dangers of underage drinking and drugs and their impact on the Manhasset community’s quality of life.

     Senator Martins presented Ms. Shibley with a legislative resolution he sponsored in the Senate in recognition of her many years of community service. With passage of the resolution, Ms. Shibley’s achievements will forever be part of the official record of the New York State Senate. 

     “Lis has worked tirelessly to protect Manhasset’s children from the dangers of alcohol and drugs. She has helped educate a generation of students and parents about substance abuse, helped reduce underage drinking, and sponsored programs which kept over 1,300 pounds of unused prescription drugs off the streets and out of children’s hands. She has truly made a difference in the community, and I am pleased that her many years of service were recognized by the Senate,” said Senator Martins.
