Senator Martins Joins WITH Floral Park Historical Society in Unveiling New Vanderbilt Cup Historical Marker

Senator Jack M. Martins (R-7th Senate District) recently joined with the Floral Park Historical Society and community members in unveiling a new historical marker commemorating the running of the Vanderbilt Cup Race through the Village of Floral Park. The marker is located at the corner of Jericho Turnpike and Emerson Avenue.
The Vanderbilt Cup Race was the first major international auto race in the United States which was run on a public road. It ran thru Floral Park on October 8, 1904.
