Senator Jack M. Martins (R-Mineola), Legislator Rose Marie Walker, and Legislator Laura Schaefer recently sponsored a hurricane preparedness forum in Hicksville.
Members of the Nassau County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) discussed safety, planning, response, and coordination for natural disasters, in addition to answering questions from residents about hurricane/severe storm preparedness. The seminar explained in detail about weather conditions, sheltering, and making a plan.
Residents who were unable to attend the program but would like more information about hurricane preparedness can contact the Nassau County Office of Emergency Management at 516-573-0636 or visit www.nassaucountyny.gov/oem.
