(Far Rockaway) – New York State Senator James Sanders Jr. (D-Queens) expressed dismay at the FDNY for the apparent failure of emergency services to dispatch ambulances to the site of the fire that killed four-year-olds Jai’Launi and Aniya Tinglin until thirteen minutes after the first call to 911 had been placed.
“I’m deeply troubled by this report. Thirteen minutes could have made the difference between life and death for those children. The results of this investigation underscore my earlier call for an independent review of the circumstances surrounding the Fire Department’s inadequate response to the fire, and, frankly, the response of emergency services has been under intense scrutiny long before this horrific tragedy ever occurred,” said Sanders.
