BRONX, NY – Tuesday night before Thanksgiving was filled with fun, friends, games and prizes as State Senator Jeff Klein (D-Bronx/Westchester) and the Throggs Neck Homeowners Association hosted the Senator’s monthly bingo night at Villa Barone Manor, in Throggs Neck. The event was attended by more than 100 community members and featured numerous rounds of bingo, light snacks, refreshments and dozens of prizes donated by local businesses.
“Bingo night is a great event where community members, friends and family can come together and enjoy one another’s company, and if they’re lucky, win one of the many prizes donated by our terrific local businesses,” said Senator Klein. “Tonight’s event was a fun-filled, successful evening for all involved, and I’m certainly looking forward to our next big bingo night.”
The 45th Precinct also participated in the event, holding a table for Operation Identification where any and all attendees were able to register their electronic goods – including cell phones, tablets, computers and more – as part of the program’s theft prevention effort. Working with local law enforcement, the program aims to track, detect, identify and return stolen property to rightful owners within the community.
All prizes were provided by local shops, restaurants and businesses, including bottles of wine, tickets to the Bronx Botanical Gardens, and gift certificates to Babalu Restaurant and the New Green Dragon restaurant. Many guests hailed from the surrounding Senior Centers including, the Middletown Senior Center and Throggs Neck Senior Center.
The next monthly bingo night will take place on December 11th, 2014 at 7:00 pm at Morris Park Community Association.
