Senator DeFrancisco Announces His 2014 Teachers of Excellence Awards Ceremony

State Senator John A. DeFrancisco will hold his first-ever Teachers Of Excellence awards ceremony this Thursday, June 5, 2014, at Jordan-Elbridge High School, starting at 4:00 pm. More than 20 educators throughout Onondaga and Cayuga Counties will be honored. They were nominated by students, faculty, staff, and family members.
“Teachers are the tools that enable our students to succeed in life,” said Senator DeFrancisco. “I am proud to recognize those dedicated educators within my district, who go above and beyond to educate, mentor and inspire their students.”
The ceremony will be held in the Jordan-Elbridge High School Auditorium, located at 5721 Hamilton Road in Jordan.
The Teachers of Excellence program is a New York State Senate program designed to recognize teachers who specialize in various fields, and who have a history of going above and beyond to improve the quality of education and help their students suceed. Honorees will receive a certificate of recognition and a "Gold Apple" pin.
