SENATOR JOHN BONACIC SECURES $100,000 GRANT
FOR THE TOWN OF WALLKILL
Senator John Bonacic (R/C/I – Mt. Hope) announces that the Town of Wallkill has been awarded $100,000 in funding from the State & Municipal Facilities Capital Program.
Monies will go towards the purchase of two generators to be used at Wallkill’s recreation centers in Circleville and Middletown that also serve as emergency storm shelters.
“The need for emergency storm shelters has steadily increased over the last few years, and sometimes power outages can last for days,” says Town Supervisor Dan Depew. “These generators will be able to keep our residents safe and secure in the event they have to leave their homes for any period of time. We plan on using these generators in our community center and newly formed recreation center, and we can’t thank Senator Bonacic enough for providing this funding.”
“We have already seen how mother nature can create havoc for our communities, and force residents out of their homes due to floods, or power outages,” says Senator Bonacic, “I’m pleased to be able to help the Town of Wallkill obtain these generators.”
