Senator John Bonacic (R/C/I – Mt. Hope) announces that the Town of Hamden has been awarded $50,000 in funding from the State & Municipal Facilities Capital Program.
The funding will go towards the purchase, relocation, renovation, and restoration of the historic 1828 one-room schoolhouse.
“This funding would allow us to continue work on restoring an historic structure that would serve as a local museum and where many of our Town’s artifacts can be on display,” said Town Supervisor Wayne E. Marshfield. “As always, we are very grateful to the Senator for this funding, and thank him for his superb representation on behalf of our town.”
“I am pleased to be able to help the Town of Hamden complete the work on a new museum for its residents, and especially the kids, so the town’s history can be preserved and enjoyed for years to come,” said Senator Bonacic.
