Senator John Bonacic (R/I/C – Mt. Hope) announces that the Town of Masonville has been awarded $50,000 in funding from the State & Municipal Facilities Capital Program.

The funding, in addition to a previous $50,000 grant, will go towards replacing a leaky highway garage roof, and adding on two bays to allow a consolidation of services between the Town of Masonville and the County’s Department of Public Works.

“Extra funds for maintenance and repair of Town facilities are extremely difficult in this economy,” said Town Supervisor, Michael Spaccaforno.  “Last year, we had to repair a plow truck which took many thousands of dollars out of our reserves. These grants will allow us to make this necessary roof repair, while also adding a two-bay garage, which we will lease to the County’s Department of Public Works. This will help to consolidate services, saving the County money, while creating a revenue stream for the Town of Masonville. Our Town is very grateful to Senator Bonacic for all of his help in securing this critical funding.”

“I am pleased to assist with the Town’s need to make important repairs to their garage facility and make additions to the building which allows the County and Town to share services,” said Senator Bonacic.
