Senator Serrano Urges New Yorkers to Beautify their Local and State Parks this Saturday, May 3rd
(New York, NY)- Senator José M. Serrano, Ranking Member on the Senate Committee that oversees parks, encourages all New Yorkers to beautify their local and state parks this weekend for "I Love My Park Day" and "It's My Park Day."
I Love My Park Day, a statewide initiative organized byParks & Trails New York, is a one-day event focused on state parks across New York State. It's My Park Day is a joint program sponsored by the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation and City Parks Foundation and is a one-day event focused on New York City parks. Both of these events are taking place on the same day, this Saturday, May 3rd. We are encouraging New Yorkers to join the festivities and beautify their local green spaces.
"These initiatives are an incredible opportunity to get involved in preserving and beautifying our beloved state and city parks," said Senator Serrano. "Last year New Yorkers showed just how much they love their parks by visiting them over 60 million times. Parks enhance our lives in so many ways and are also an effective economic engine for our communities. I encourage all New Yorkers to join with their neighbors in volunteering at their favorite park this Saturday. Let's help beautify our parks now and for generations to come," concluded Serrano.
