(South Bronx, NY)- Senator Serrano joined the New York Restoration Project (NYRP), founded by Bette Midler, local community leaders and supporters for the ribbon cutting ceremony of the newly renovated Willis Avenue community garden in the South Bronx. The NYRP is a non-profit organization dedicated to transforming open space in underserved communities to create a greater and more sustainable city.
"It was a pleasure participating in the ribbon cutting ceremony for the newly renovated Willis Avenue Community Garden in the South Bronx. This refurbished garden is a product of the hard work and dedication of Bette Midler and the NYRP. This garden will serve as a tremendous boost to the cultural and recreational opportunities within our community. My sincere thanks to Bette Midler, who is not only a wonderfully talented artist, but a tireless public servant as well. Many thanks to Bette and everyone at NYRP for their tremendous commitment to a greener, healthier New York City!" said Senator Serrano.
