(Albany, NY)- Senator Serrano met with advocates from Compassionate Care NY, who traveled to Albany in support of the passage of medical marijuana. Compassionate Care NY is a group of patients, providers and organizations advocating in support of legalizing medical marijuana in New York State for the thousands of people suffering from serious illnesses.
"Thank you to all of the advocates from Compassionate Care NY, who traveled to Albany in support of establishing a carefully regulated medical marijuana program in New York State," said Senator Serrano. "Medical marijuana treatment would help those with debilitating illnesses who could benefit greatly from its treatment," concluded Serrano.
Having passed both the Senate and Assembly the bill now heads to Governor Andrew Cuomo's desk to be signed into law.
