(Albany, NY)- Senator Serrano met with advocates from the League of Humane Voters New York State (LOHV-NYS) in Albany to discuss ways to better protect and care for animals in New York State.
"It was a pleasure meeting with advocates from the League of Humane Voters," said Senator Serrano. "It is saddening that so many of our beloved animals become victims of abuse. It is important to be the voice for these defenseless animals and ensure that we protect them. Many thanks to the League of Humane Voters for traveling to Albany to speak with me on this very important issue," concluded Serrano.
Senator Serrano is a firm supporter of legislation that enhances animal rights. He is the sponsor of S5048, which better protects lost and strayed animals by modifying the dog licensing process and a co-sponsor of bill S3753-A, which would help regulate cruel and tortuous puppy mills.
