(Albany, NY) - Senator José M. Serrano met with a group of 40 students and parents, who traveled to Albany, on behalf of "United Parents of Highbridge." The group, from the Senator's district, met with the Senator to discuss the need for more after-school programming, as well as better funding for local public schools.
"It is necessary that our local public schools receive adequate funding to support after-school programming," said Senator Serrano. "We've witnessed the positive effects of keeping our children engaged even after the school day is over. The questions and concerns raised by this bright group of young advocates highlight why we need to invest in their future. I will continue to fight for this important issue so that we can continue to create great young leaders," concluded Serrano.
