(South Bronx, NY)- Senator Serrano had the pleasure of returning to his former high school, Cardinal Hayes High School in the South Bronx, as the Key-Note Speaker for the school's Spring Honors Convocation & National Honor Society Induction Ceremony. Serrano congratulated the group of exceptional students and their families for their hard work, determination and community service. The Senator also reminisced about the times he spent as a member of the graduating class of 1990.
"It was a pleasure addressing my fellow Hayesmen at their Spring Honors Convocation and National Honor Society Induction Ceremony," said Senator Serrano. "These inductees are an incredible group of students who have done exceptionally well in all areas and I extend my sincere congratulations to them and their families. Their hard work, determination and service toward their community are attributes that will take them far in life. As a graduate of Cardinal Hayes, it's always a treat to go back and visit my old high school. Almost 25 years have passed since I graduated from Hayes, but on nights like tonight I feel as if I never left. As we used to say, 'Up Hayes and all its loyal men!'"
