Senator Serrano Participates in Annual Production of Handel's Messiah

(Bronx, NY)- Senator Serrano joined The Bronx Opera and other elected officials for a presentation of Handel's Messiah at Bronx Community College. Senator Serrano served as one of the presenters for this annual holiday event and read a passage to the jam-packed audience. The Senator was joined by Congressman José E. Serrano, Council Member Andy King, Council Member Andrew Cohen and members of the community for the Bronx holiday tradition. Senator Serrano is a long-time supporter of the arts and serves as the Ranking Member on the Senate Committee on Cultural Affairs, Tourism, Parks & Recreation.
"The Bronx Opera continues to provide The Bronx with such a special treat during the holiday season," said Senator Serrano. "It is an honor and pleasure to serve as orator year after year. The Hallelujah Chorus is always such an uplifting and inspirational performance, which brings the entire audience to their feet. Many thanks to Michael Spierman for continuing to put together such a great spectacle of arts and culture in The Bronx."
