(Albany, NY)- Senator Serrano served as Honorary Chairperson, along with Assemblywoman Linda B. Rosenthal, for the 24th Annual New York State Art Teachers Association's Student Art Exhibition. Artwork created by students across New York State was displayed in The Well of the State Capitol building for all to enjoy.
"As the Ranking Member on the Senate Committee on Cultural Affairs, Tourism, Parks & Recreation, I believe that the arts is an important investment in our children's education," said Senator Serrano. "The wonderful pieces of art created by these talented students shines a light on the importance of an art education. I commend all of the art teachers that know how valuable the arts are for our children. It is through their dedication that our children are gaining a lifetime appreciation of how the arts enrich the overall academic experience," concluded Senator Serrano.
