(Albany, NY)- Senator Serrano stood with advocates and colleagues in government for a press conference in support of legislation that would protect women's rights in the workplace. Bill S6579A, known as the "Boss Bill," would ban employers from discriminating against employees on the basis of their personal reproductive health decisions.

"As a proud member of the Bipartisan Pro-Choice Legislative Caucus, I am proud to support legislation that would prevent discrimination based on a woman's personal reproductive health decisions. We need to do better to ensure that all women have the option to receive necessary reproductive health coverage at work," said Senator Serrano.

"I remain committed to ensuring that women's workplace rights are protected in the legislature. This means that I will continue to fight to ensure that every point of Governor Cuomo's Women's Equality Plan is passed this year. Many thanks to State Senator Liz Krueger, Assemblywoman Ellen Jaffe and Assemblywoman Linda B. Rosenthal for their leadership and staunch advocacy on this important issue," concluded Serrano.
