NYS Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. Statement on the Funeral of P.o. Dennis Guerra

While at the funeral for Police Officer Dennis Guerra, I kept thinking to myself that while it was the dedicated intention of Guerra and his partner, Police Officer Rosa Rodriguez, to go towards a dangerous situation to help save others, it is now our intention to pray for his soul and for his family, as well as the full recovery of Police Officer Rodriguez. 

Also so fitting that Mayor de Blasio and Police Commissioner Bratton announced at the funeral the promotion of Police Officer Guerra to First Grade Detective, the rank his father had in the NYPD. 

I am proud of and grateful for the efforts of Detective Guerra, Police Officer Rodriguez and all the members of our NYPD.
