Senator Ken LaValle Calls on State Education Commissioner to Delay “Common Core”

In the NY Senate Education Committee today, Senator Ken LaValle called upon Commissioner John King to delay “Common Core” implementation.  Senator LaValle said “Going back to the initial meeting on Long Island last April, it appears that the Department of Education is not listening.  The rollout of Common Core has been flawed, and children are being hurt.”

Senator LaValle continued, “There is an immediate need for something to happen since the process has collapsed.  I would like the commissioner to hit the delay button today.”
