Senator Golden Announces One Bedroom Waiting List Opens at Shore Hill

Brooklyn – State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn) today is announcing that he has received official notification that as of today, Shore Hill Apartments, 9000 Shore Road in Brooklyn, a Mitchell-Lama Section 8 supervised by New York State Homes and Community Renewal, is opening its 1-Bedroom Wait List for 200 applicants, to be selected by a lottery.
Senator Marty Golden stated, “I am grateful for the opportunity to inform the community that a senior housing application opportunity is underway at this time. Shore Hill has been a true asset to our community since it opened in 1977, and I trust that it will continue to be an extraordinary place for our older adults to call home. I would encourage folks who have been, or who are, thinking about moving into senior housing to respond within this application period.”
Interested persons may obtain an application by writing to Shore Hill Housing and including a STAMPED, SELF-ADDRESSED ENVELOPE, no smaller than 9 by 4 inches, by regular mail to: Shore Hill Housing Associates, LP, 9000 Shore Road, Brooklyn, New York 11209 Attention: Management Office/Application.
Applicants must be at least 62 years of age and have a limited income. Maximum occupancy for a 1-Bedroom apartment is two persons. If selected in the lottery, qualified veterans who served during time of war and reside in New York State, or their surviving spouses, will be afforded an admission preference. All other applications will be processed in order of selection. Qualifications will be based on HUD Section 8 and IRS 42 Tax Credit Program guidelines.
Completed applications must be sent by REGULAR MAIL TO THE POST OFFICE BOX stated on the application (no certified, priority, registered, overnight, or express mail will be accepted). The application must be mailed in a White #10 business size envelope (4 1/8” x 9 ½”). Completed applications must be received by the deadline date of November 13, 2014 at 11AM. Applications received after the deadline date will be returned. If more than one application is received, the application will be disqualified.
