Tax credit to help private and parochial schools throughout New York State
Brooklyn – State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn) and Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis (R-C-I, Brooklyn, Staten Island) will join with parents and educators throughout Southern Brooklyn on Friday, March 14, 2014, at 2:45 p.m., at Holy Angels Academy Auditorium located at 337 74th Street in Brooklyn, to rally in support of the Education Investment Tax Credit.
Brooklyn Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio and Dr. Thomas Chadzutko, Superintendent of Schools for the Diocese of Brooklyn, will speak at the event calling on the Senate and Assembly to support this tax credit this year.
This bill provides for a New York State tax credit available to all parents that will help fund non-public education. This bill will offer enormous assistance to the parents and educators of private and parochial schools. Specifically, the bill will significantly enhance the number and size of donations to educational scholarship funds, like Futures in Education, by allowing those donations to be offset through a tax credit.
Members of the media are welcome.
