Brooklyn -Today State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn) issued the following statement on the Statement the ongoing LICH/SUNY negotiations:
“It is difficult to see how the long standing uncertainty regarding the transformation of Long Island College Hospital is in the interests of the patients of Brooklyn, taxpayers of the State of New York, and our world class SUNY system. After more than a year the time has come for common sense to prevail and to move forward. The proposals, all of which are available for public review, are reasonable and one should be chosen without delay. While change is never easy, this is an opportunity to begin implementing the less costly and more effective 21st century health care solution that Brooklyn clearly needs. “
